Our Story

What We Do & Our Purpose

The Family Dinner Series is a monthly dialogue series, complemented by periodic special events, curated by and for queer men of color.

We cultivate meaningful connections and familial bonds among gay and queer men of color.

Why Family Dinners?

In numerous instances, gay and queer men experience marginalization or exclusion from their families, resulting in a deprivation of the traditions, skills, and invaluable wisdom typically exchanged during family gatherings, notably at the dinner table.

Often, when included, we lack the equivalent advice and guidance afforded to our heterosexual family members, navigating life without the support network provided by family bonds. Our curated conversations provide a space for men to build bonds and establish chosen family systems.

Setting & Inviting You to the Table

This series provides an environment for conversations that delve into essential life challenges, such as nurturing platonic friendships as you mature, fostering healthy dating habits, making long-term financial decisions in nontraditional family structures, and navigating the decision of whether to disclose your sexuality in the workplace.

Who’s at the Table?

Each dinner brings together a vibrant mix of ages, ethnicities, birthplaces, religions, and life journeys. The perspectives shared around the table invite us to see the world—and each other—through new and meaningful lenses.
